Paid Media Specialist

About the Paid Media Specialist position

HelpGood seeks a purpose-driven and experienced Paid Media Specialist. The ideal person will love to work independently and in close collaboration with team members. You will partner with clients to develop and help implement paid media strategies and tactics that will improve marketing and communications efforts. You will help them better connect, engage and activate their audiences. This role is based in New York with a hybrid office model. The position is required to work in our Greenpoint Brooklyn office on Mondays and Wednesdays 10am – 6pm, and reports to HelpGood’s Chief Strategy Officer. Compensation will be commensurate with experience. 

Primary Job Responsibilities

  • Manage paid and donated media for HelpGood’s social impact-focused clients. You will work on any client project that has a paid or donated media campaign involved.
  • You will be very hands-on and manage all aspects of our paid media efforts including assessment, strategy, planning, building, buying, negotiating, placement, testing, optimization, analytics tracking, reporting and insights development.
  • You will delegate to a team of paid media specialists at our partner agency who manage the execution and reporting for paid social & search. You will ensure campaign execution stays on track & performance meets expectations set in the strategy.  
  • You will oversee influencer marketing tasks: strategy, outreach, contracts and management. 
  • You will mostly focus on digital campaigns, but also support paid media programs across all channels (i.e. Traditional Out of Home).
  • Client needs vary so you will be supporting awareness, acquisition, direct response, growth, retention, branding, downloads, engagement and other kinds of client goals.
  • You will manage or oversee media across many standard search & social platforms (i.e. Google, Meta, LinkedIn, TikTok) while helping clients identify testing oppurtunities to diversify and strengthen their media mix and improve ROI (i.e. Reddit, Nextdoor, Blogs & Newsletters, Influencer Marketing). Further, you will be exposed to many other channels such as Traditional and Digital OOH, CTV, Online Video, Audio and Dating Apps. Some of these will be managed services while others may be self serve.
  • Personal project management within the standards of HelpGood’s larger project management process. This includes the use and upkeep of ASANA and internal and external communications across email, slack, ASANA, zoom etc.
  • Minimal travel, some local client/vendor offsite.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration or related area.
  • 3-5 years of related experience in a paid media role, preferably at a media agency. Strong understanding of and experience in working with performance media and/or marketing.
  • Professional maturity is a must as is the ability to persuade and motivate target audiences through written materials, social media and in presentations.
  • Diverse experience. Proven experience managing paid media campaigns from conception to ongoing management and marketing optimization.
  • Experience with Asana and Google Drive
  • Experience with Meta, Google AdWords, Google Analytics, Google Grants, and marketing automation, fundraising, peer-to-peer and funnels platforms.
  • Exposure to WordPress, Salesforce, MailChimp, Klayvio, Classy, Zapier is a plus
  • Capable of partnering and communicating with clients effectively with confidence – strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Friendly and engaging style and demeanor, with strong motivation and professionalism.
  • Can operate and lead in situations where the path forward is unclear – you can chart the course forward.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Experience managing a team or direct report is a plus
  • Understanding of and experience working with diverse populations.
  • Strong interest in social issues.
  • Google and Social Media certifications preferred.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.

Salary Range

  • $85,000 – $110,000
