HelpsGood is an agency focused on social good. We work with nonprofits, NGOs, government agencies and corporate social responsibility teams to develop cause marketing, communication and fundraising strategies that inspire action.
HelpsGood’s clients include the Ad Council, The Partnership for Drug Free Kids, Animal League, Keep America Beautiful, United Way, the USDA, EPA, USAID, Love Has No Labels, New York Collaborates for Autism, and Starlight Children’s Foundation among others.
Michael Bellavia is an Emmy-winning producer and digital marketing exec who has been at the helm of HelpsGood since it's founding in 2010, and here's a secret - he's the voice of Smokey Bear across all of the wildfire prevention icon's social and digital channels. Michael has an MBA from Columbia Business School and a BS in Engineering from The University of Michigan. He's on the Board of the Producers Guild of America New Media Council and has spoken at SXSW, NATPE, Digital Hollywood, CES, AdTech, KidScreen, CTIA and the Economist Media Forum.
With 10 years of experience in nonprofit digital communications and social marketing, Amanda likes to be involved at every level of a project from digital strategy to content production. Amanda was the Director of Interactive Services at the Ad Council where she was responsible for website development, project management, social media and other interactive projects for Ad Council’s PSA campaigns. Before joining the Ad Council, Amanda was the Online Communications Manager at SAMHSA’s National Suicide Prevention Lifeline where she managed Lifeline’s websites, social media presence and online crisis messages.
Chief Technology Officer
Ferry leads HelpsGood’s technology development efforts. He is an avid programmer who enjoys creating interactive, media-rich applications. Ferry is proficient in C/C++, Java, ActionScript, Objective-C as well as methodologies such as OOP. His experience encompasses a broad range from software-architecture to hands-on-programming and content-design. Ferry has worked on social apps, mobile apps, game engines, educational software, presentation tools and video conversion tools. Ferry’s professional work has been featured in publications such as CNN, San Jose Mercury News and Parenting Magazine. He has been programming since high school and he holds a Masters from USC and a BS from the University of Portland, both in Computer Science.
